  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the conveyance of 
  1.3             certain state land to the city of Faribault. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CONVEYANCE OF STATE LAND TO CITY OF 
  1.6   FARIBAULT.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [CONVEYANCE.] Notwithstanding Minnesota 
  1.8   Statutes, sections 92.45 and 94.09 to 94.16, the commissioner of 
  1.9   administration shall convey to the city of Faribault for no 
  1.10  consideration the land described in subdivision 3. 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [FORM.] The conveyance must be in a form approved 
  1.12  by the attorney general and must provide that the land reverts 
  1.13  to the state if Parcels A and B cease to be used for a nature 
  1.14  interpretive center and recreational trail system or if Parcel C 
  1.15  ceases to be used for a municipal park. 
  1.16     Subd. 3.  [DESCRIPTION.] (a) The land to be conveyed are 
  1.17  those parts of Section 31, 32, and 33 in Township 110 North, 
  1.18  Range 20 West, and those parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, and 8 in 
  1.19  Township 109 North, Range 20 West, in the city of Faribault, 
  1.20  Rice county, Minnesota, described as follows: 
  1.21     (1) Parcel A:  Beginning at the Southeast corner of the 
  1.22     Southeast Quarter of said Section 31; thence South 89 
  1.23     degrees, 58 minutes, 35 seconds West, along the South line 
  1.24     of said Southeast Quarter (for purposes of this description 
  2.1      bearings are assumed and based on said South line being

 10.32     Subd. 4.  [PURPOSE.] The land to be conveyed is no longer 
 10.33  utilized by the department of corrections in Faribault.  The 
 10.34  city of Faribault intends to continue to use Parcels A and B for 
 10.35  a nature interpretive center and recreational trail system and 
 10.36  Parcel C for a municipal park. 
 11.1      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
 11.2      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
