  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for health and safety 
  1.3             revenue for the construction of a new facility by 
  1.4             independent school district No. 701, Hibbing. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HEALTH AND SAFETY REVENUE; HIBBING.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding the prohibition of the use of health and 
  1.8   safety revenue for the construction of new facilities in 
  1.9   Minnesota Statutes, section 124.83, subdivision 6, independent 
  1.10  school district No. 701, Hibbing, that has a high school 
  1.11  building on the National Historic Register, may use health and 
  1.12  safety revenue for the construction of a new facility but only 
  1.13  to the extent the revenue is substituted for other expenditures 
  1.14  required under orders from the fire marshal. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
