relating to natural resources; regulating certain meetings regarding treaty rights
and Mille Lacs; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 97A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Meetings involving the Department of Natural Resources, Ojibwe bands, and the
Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission regarding 1837 treaty rights and
meetings between the Department of Natural Resources and the Mille Lacs Fisheries
Advisory Committee are subject to the open meeting requirements of chapter 13D. The
commissioner must ensure the meetings are recorded and must make a permanent record
of the meetings available to the public.
