1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to game and fish; allowing deer to be 1.3 quartered before registration; amending Minnesota 1.4 Statutes 1994, section 97A.535, by adding a 1.5 subdivision. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97A.535, is 1.8 amended by adding a subdivision to read: 1.9 Subd. 2a. [QUARTERING OF DEER ALLOWED.] A deer that has 1.10 been tagged as required in subdivision 1 may be quartered at the 1.11 site of the kill. The animal's external genitalia must remain 1.12 attached to one of the quarters. The quarters must be presented 1.13 together for registration under subdivision 2 and must remain 1.14 together until the deer is processed for storage.
