  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing independent school 
  1.3             district No. 138, North Branch, lease levy for 
  1.4             administrative purposes. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [NORTH BRANCH LEASE LEVY.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding the instructional purposes limitation of 
  1.8   Minnesota Statutes, section 124.91, subdivision 1, independent 
  1.9   school district No. 138, North Branch, may apply to the 
  1.10  commissioner of children, families, and learning to make an 
  1.11  additional capital levy under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.12  124.91, subdivision 1, to rent or lease a building or land for 
  1.13  administrative purposes.  The levy may not exceed the amount 
  1.14  necessary to obtain space similar in size and quality to the 
  1.15  office space vacated for instructional purposes. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
