  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the state building code; providing for 
  1.3             certain energy code rules to remain in effect; 
  1.4             repealing Laws 1999, chapter 135, section 9; Minnesota 
  1.5             Rules, chapters 7672; and 7674. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [ENERGY RULES FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS.] 
  1.8      The provisions of Minnesota Rules, chapter 7670, that apply 
  1.9   to category 1 buildings govern residential buildings not covered 
  1.10  by Minnesota Rules, chapter 7676.  The provisions of Minnesota 
  1.11  Rules, chapter 7670 that allow category 2 buildings are void and 
  1.12  of no effect.  All buildings subject to Minnesota Rules, chapter 
  1.13  7670, attaining a building permit on or after April 15, 2000, 
  1.14  must meet the requirements for category 1 buildings as set out 
  1.15  in Minnesota Rules, chapter 7670. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.17     (a) Laws 1999, chapter 135, section 9, is repealed. 
  1.18     (b) Minnesota Rules, parts 7672.0100; 7672.0200; 7672.0300; 
  1.19  7672.0400; 7672.0500; 7672.0600; 7672.0700; 7672.0800; 
  1.20  7672.0900; 7672.1000; 7672.1100; 7672.1200; 7672.1300; 
  1.21  7674.0100; 7674.0200; 7674.0300; 7674.0400; 7674.0500; 
  1.22  7674.0600; 7674.0700; 7674.0800; 7674.0900; 7674.1000; 
  1.23  7674.1100; and 7674.1200, are repealed. 
  1.24     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.25     Sections 1 and 2 are effective April 15, 2000.
