  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; appropriating money to 
  1.3             cover law enforcement costs incurred for security and 
  1.4             patrol of Minnesota nuclear power plants. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC SAFETY; 
  1.7   NUCLEAR POWER PLANT SECURITY.] 
  1.8      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of public safety as a onetime appropriation to be 
  1.10  used for grants to local law enforcement agencies to reimburse 
  1.11  the agencies for costs incurred in providing support, security, 
  1.12  and patrols for Minnesota nuclear power plants.  The 
  1.13  commissioner shall establish criteria for grants and a process 
  1.14  for application for grants.  This appropriation is available 
  1.15  until June 30, 2003.
