  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; imposing a surcharge 
  1.3             for speeding violations committed in city, county, and 
  1.4             regional parks; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, 
  1.5             section 169.14, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 169.14, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 5f.  [VIOLATIONS IN LOCAL PARKS; SURCHARGE.] 
  1.10  Notwithstanding section 609.0331 or 609.101, or other law to the 
  1.11  contrary, a person who violates a speed limit established under 
  1.12  this section or section 169.141 while on a local park road is 
  1.13  assessed an additional surcharge equal to the amount of the fine 
  1.14  imposed for the speeding violation, but not less than $25.  For 
  1.15  purposes of this subdivision, "local park road" means that 
  1.16  portion of a street or highway located entirely within the park 
  1.17  boundaries of a city, county, or regional park.
