A bill for an act
 relating to taxation; providing a temporary increase
in the levy limit for the Region Nine Regional
Development Commission.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin REGION NINE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION;
TEMPORARY LEVY LIMIT INCREASE.

new text begin For taxes levied in each of the levy years 2005 through
2009 only, the maximum amount of levies that could otherwise be
levied for the Region Nine Regional Development Commission under
Minnesota Statutes, section 462.396, subdivision 2, is increased
by $236,067.

new text begin For taxes levied in 2010 only, the maximum levy for the
region is the amount determined as if levies for levy years 2005
through 2009 had been limited as provided in Minnesota Statutes,
section 462.396, subdivision 2, with annual increases of three
percent.
