  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; authorizing state bonds; 
  1.3             appropriating money for the restoration of Lake 
  1.4             George, and for the Beaver Island Trail System. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CITY OF ST. CLOUD.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] $1,670,000 is appropriated 
  1.8   from the bond proceeds fund to the city of St. Cloud for the 
  1.9   following projects: 
  1.10     (1) $50,000 for a planning study for the restoration of 
  1.11  Lake George; 
  1.12     (2) $1,570,000 to help implement the northerly extension of 
  1.13  the existing Beaver Island Trail System through the Saint Cloud 
  1.14  State University campus and downtown business area to the 
  1.15  southerly edge of the water treatment plant; and 
  1.16     (3) $50,000 to complete a planning study to identify a 
  1.17  future corridor to extend the Beaver Island Trail System. 
  1.18     Subd. 2.  [BOND SALE.] To provide the money appropriated by 
  1.19  this section from the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of 
  1.20  finance, on request of the governor, shall sell and issue bonds 
  1.21  of the state in an amount up to $1,670,000 in the manner, on the 
  1.22  terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.23  sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, 
  1.24  article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  1.25     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.1      Section 1 is effective the day after its final enactment.
