  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; exempting certain motor 
  1.3             vehicles used by utilities or pipeline companies from 
  1.4             all-terrain vehicle regulations; amending Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 84.92, subdivision 8.
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.8   84.92, subdivision 8, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 8.  [ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE.] "All-terrain vehicle" or 
  1.10  "vehicle" means a motorized flotation-tired vehicle of not less 
  1.11  than three low pressure tires, but not more than six tires, that 
  1.12  is limited in engine displacement of less than 800 cubic 
  1.13  centimeters and total dry weight less than 900 
  1.14  pounds.  All-terrain vehicle does not include a motor vehicle 
  1.15  owned by or operated under contract with a utility or pipeline 
  1.16  company, whether publicly or privately owned, when used for work 
  1.17  on or maintenance of utilities or pipelines.
