A bill for an act
relating to human services; transferring duties relating to licensing programs and
facilities from the Department of Human Services to the Department of Health;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[144A.491] DUTIES TRANSFERRED FROM ANOTHER AGENCY.

The powers and duties of the Department of Human Services with respect to
programs and facilities licensed or regulated under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245A,
245D, or 245F, are transferred to the Department of Health.

Sec. 2. CONFORMING CHANGES.

The revisor of statutes, in consultation with house of representatives and senate staff
and the commissioners of human services and health, shall prepare a bill for introduction
in the 2017 legislative session proposing the statutory changes needed to implement
the transfer of duties required by section 1.

Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.

Sections 1 and 2 are effective July 1, 2017.
