  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; modifying the hours during 
  1.3             which shining for wild animals is prohibited; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97B.081, subdivision 
  1.5             2. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97B.081, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [WITHOUT FIREARMS.] Between the hours of 10:00 
  1.10  p.m. sunset and 6:00 a.m. sunrise from September 1 to December 
  1.11  31, a person may not cast the rays of a spotlight, headlight, or 
  1.12  other artificial light in a field, woodland, or forest to spot, 
  1.13  locate, or take a wild animal except to take raccoons under 
  1.14  section 97B.621, subdivision 3, or to tend traps under section 
  1.15  97B.931.  It is not a violation of this subdivision for a person 
  1.16  to carry out any agricultural, occupational, or recreational 
  1.17  practice, including snowmobiling that is not related to 
  1.18  spotting, locating, or taking a wild animal.
