  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             to design flood mitigation measures in the city of 
  1.4             Cannon Falls; authorizing the sale of state bonds. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CANNON FALLS FLOOD MITIGATION.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] $175,000 is appropriated 
  1.8   from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of natural 
  1.9   resources for the state share of a flood hazard mitigation grant 
  1.10  to the city of Cannon Falls for publicly owned capital 
  1.11  improvements to prevent or alleviate flood damage under 
  1.12  Minnesota Statutes, section 103F.161.  This appropriation is to 
  1.13  predesign and design a project to alleviate the flooding caused 
  1.14  by water runoff from the bluffs, and the flooding of the Big and 
  1.15  Little Cannon Rivers. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [BOND SALE.] To provide the money appropriated in 
  1.17  this act from the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of 
  1.18  finance shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up 
  1.19  to $175,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect 
  1.20  prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, 
  1.21  and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
