A bill for an act
 relating to energy; requiring Public Utilities Commission to initiate proceeding
regarding interconnection of distributed generation facilities; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 216B.1611, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 216B.1611, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin The commission shall initiate a
proceeding by August 1, 2007, to establish, by order, terms and conditions for the
interconnection and parallel operation of off-site distributed generation in a manner
consistent with sections 216B.37 to 216B.43.
