A bill for an act
relating to legislative enactments; correcting miscellaneous oversights,
inconsistencies, ambiguities, unintended results, and technical errors; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 62L.02, subdivision 11.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 62L.02, subdivision 11, is amended to read:


Subd. 11.

Dependent.

"Dependent" means an eligible employee's spouse, dependent
child to the limiting age as defined in section 62Q.01, subdivision deleted text begin 9deleted text end new text begin 2anew text end , dependent child
of any age who is disabled and who meets the eligibility criteria in section 62A.14,
subdivision 2
, or any other person whom state or federal law requires to be treated as a
dependent for purposes of health plans. For the purpose of this definition, a dependent
child to the limiting age as defined in section 62Q.01, subdivision deleted text begin 9deleted text end new text begin 2anew text end , includes a child
for whom the employee or the employee's spouse has been appointed legal guardian and
an adoptive child as provided in section 62A.27. A child also means a grandchild as
provided in section 62A.042 with continued eligibility of grandchildren as provided in
section 62A.302, subdivision 4.
