  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; providing for reports to 
  1.3             the house ways and means and senate finance committees 
  1.4             of contracts for consultant, professional, and 
  1.5             technical services; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, 
  1.6             section 16B.17, subdivision 4. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 16B.17, 
  1.9   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 4.  [REPORTS.] The commissioner shall submit to the 
  1.11  governor and the legislature chairs of the house ways and means 
  1.12  and senate finance committees a monthly listing of all contracts 
  1.13  for consultant services and for professional and technical 
  1.14  services executed or disapproved in the preceding month.  The 
  1.15  report must identify the parties and the contract amount, 
  1.16  duration, and tasks to be performed.  The commissioner shall 
  1.17  also issue quarterly reports summarizing the contract review 
  1.18  activities of the department during the preceding quarter.
