  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to vocational rehabilitation; authorizing a 
  1.3             transfer of funds. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TRANSFER OF FUNDS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [TRANSFER.] Beginning in fiscal year 2005, 
  1.7   the commissioner of employment and economic development may 
  1.8   transfer $1,325,000 from the independent living program's 
  1.9   general fund appropriation to the vocational rehabilitation 
  1.10  program.  Each year, the state director of the vocational 
  1.11  rehabilitation program shall immediately restore from the 
  1.12  vocational rehabilitation program's federal Social Security 
  1.13  Administration program income or federal Title I funds, the 
  1.14  $1,325,000 to the Centers for Independent Living. 
  1.15     Subd. 2.  [FEDERAL FUNDS MATCH.] The transferred 
  1.16  independent living general funds under subdivision 1 shall be 
  1.17  used to match federal vocational rehabilitation funds as they 
  1.18  become available, and each year the resulting additional federal 
  1.19  funds must be divided equally between the vocational 
  1.20  rehabilitation program and the Centers for Independent Living. 
  1.21  The maximum amount of federal vocational rehabilitation funds 
  1.22  that may be shared with the Centers for Independent Living is 
  1.23  $2,438,000.  The vocational rehabilitation program may not use 
  1.24  the Centers for Independent Living's share of the additional 
  2.1   federal funds for any other purpose than to fund the Centers for 
  2.2   Independent Living. 
  2.3      Subd. 3.  [DATA SHARING.] The Centers for Independent 
  2.4   Living must share data with the vocational rehabilitation 
  2.5   program to ensure that the transfer of funds under subdivision 1 
  2.6   and the related contracts meet all legal requirements.
