  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to judgments; providing for the disclosure 
  1.3             and satisfaction of certain outstanding judgment 
  1.4             debts; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes, chapter 550. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [550.031] [JUDGMENT CREDITOR DISCLOSURE; 
  1.8   SATISFACTION OF OUTSTANDING JUDGMENTS.] 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [DISCLOSURE.] An application for a writ of 
  1.10  execution must be accompanied by a sworn affidavit from the 
  1.11  judgment creditor stating whether the judgment creditor is a 
  1.12  judgment debtor in the county where the writ is being obtained 
  1.13  or executed, to the extent known by the judgment creditor.  The 
  1.14  affidavit must include an itemized list of any outstanding 
  1.15  judgments and the persons to whom the judgments are owed.  The 
  1.16  state court administrator shall prepare and distribute forms for 
  1.17  making the disclosure required under this subdivision. 
  1.18     Subd. 2.  [SATISFACTION.] If a judgment creditor discloses 
  1.19  outstanding judgment debts under subdivision 1, the sheriff or 
  1.20  other officer executing the writ shall first apply the proceeds 
  1.21  that are recovered to payment of those debts of the judgment 
  1.22  creditor and any remainder shall be remitted to the judgment 
  1.23  creditor.
