A bill for an act
relating to education finance; appropriating money for environmentally
responsible arts education projects.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2010 and $....... in fiscal year 2011 is appropriated from the arts
and cultural heritage fund to the commissioner of education for grants to public schools for
projects that will reduce environmental impact while simultaneously enabling long-term
access to arts education for Minnesota students. Acceptable projects under this section
include, but are not limited to, upgrading arts education facilities and equipment to reduce
environmental impact, disposing of toxic or environmentally hazardous arts education
materials, disposing of paint or other art mediums, and purchasing environmentally
responsible arts education materials. The grant money must only be used to design,
acquire, construct, expand, remodel, improve, furnish, service, maintain, or equip arts
education facilities according to the requirements of this section.
