  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; designating the Rudy Perpich 
  1.3             Memorial Highway; appropriating money; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 161.14, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 161.14, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 40.  [RUDY PERPICH MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.] Interstate 
  1.10  highway marked I-94 from its intersection with the 
  1.11  Minnesota-Wisconsin border to its intersection with the 
  1.12  Minnesota-North Dakota border is named and designated the "Rudy 
  1.13  Perpich Memorial Highway."  Notwithstanding section 161.139, the 
  1.14  commissioner of transportation shall adopt a suitable design to 
  1.15  mark this highway and shall erect the appropriate signs at 
  1.16  locations identified by the commissioner. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.18     $....... is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to the 
  1.19  commissioner of transportation to pay the expenses of marking 
  1.20  and memorializing the Rudy Perpich Memorial Highway.
