  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [BEACONS PROJECT.] 
  1.6      $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $2,000,000 in fiscal 
  1.7   year 2001 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   department of children, families, and learning for a grant to 
  1.9   the YMCA of metropolitan Minneapolis for the Beacons Project.
