  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution 
  1.3             adding a section to article XIII; providing that the 
  1.4             Minnesota Constitution makes no greater provision for 
  1.5             a publicly funded abortion than does the United States 
  1.6             Constitution. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.] 
  1.9      An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution adding a new 
  1.10  section to article XIII, is proposed to the people.  If the 
  1.11  amendment is adopted the section shall read: 
  1.12     Sec. 12.  This constitution makes no greater provision for 
  1.13  a publicly funded abortion than does the United States 
  1.14  Constitution. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.] 
  1.16     The proposed amendment shall be submitted to the people at 
  1.17  the 1996 general election.  The question submitted shall be: 
  1.18     "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended so that it 
  1.19  makes no greater provision for a publicly funded abortion than 
  1.20  does the United States Constitution? 
  1.21                                     Yes .......
  1.22                                     No ........"
