relating to compulsive gambling; appropriating money
for prevention and treatment services; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin $500,000 is appropriated annually from the lottery prize
fund to the commissioner of human services for a grant to the
Southeast Asian Problem Gambling Consortium, with the Lao
Assistance Center as the fiscal agent, to provide statewide
compulsive gambling prevention and treatment services for Lao,
Hmong, Vietnamese, and Cambodian families, adults, and
adolescents. Any unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
the first fiscal year of a biennium does not cancel, but is
available the second fiscal year of the biennium.
