  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; designating the Jim Rice 
  1.3             memorial expressway; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, 
  1.4             section 161.14, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 161.14, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 40.  [JIM RICE EXPRESSWAY.] That segment of 
  1.9   legislative route No. 392, described in section 161.12 and 
  1.10  marked as interstate highway No. I-94, is designated "Jim Rice 
  1.11  Expressway" from its intersection with 53rd Avenue North to its 
  1.12  intersection with Glenwood Avenue in the city of Minneapolis.  
  1.13  The commissioner of transportation shall adopt a suitable design 
  1.14  to mark this highway and erect the appropriate signs.
