A bill for an act
 relating to public safety; providing housing in Hennepin County for registered
predatory offenders assigned a risk level III; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PREDATORY OFFENDER HOUSING; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2014 to the commissioner
of corrections to develop state-owned housing in Hennepin County for registered
predatory offenders who are assigned a risk level III under Minnesota Statutes, section
244.052. The housing must be distributed throughout the county so as to disperse the
number of registered predatory offenders in the city of Minneapolis. The state shall charge
a reasonable amount of rent for the housing based on the offender's income.
