  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale or 
  1.3             conveyance of certain tax-forfeited land that borders 
  1.4             public water in Roseau County. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CONVEYANCE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  1.7   PUBLIC WATER; ROSEAU COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, Roseau County may convey to a 
  1.11  public entity for no consideration the tax-forfeited land 
  1.12  bordering public water that is described in paragraph (c) or may 
  1.13  sell the land to a public entity for the appraised value. 
  1.14     (b) The conveyance or sale must be in a form approved by 
  1.15  the attorney general.  A conveyance for no consideration must 
  1.16  provide that the land reverts to the state if the public entity 
  1.17  stops using the land for a public purpose. 
  1.18     (c) The land to be conveyed is located in Roseau County and 
  1.19  is described as: 
  1.20     (1) Lot 2, Soler Township, Section 2, Township 162 North, 
  1.21  Range 43 West; 
  1.22     (2) Lot 3, Soler Township, Section 2, Township 162 North, 
  1.23  Range 43 West; 
  1.24     (3) Lot 4, Soler Township, Section 2, Township 162 North, 
  1.25  Range 43 West; 
  2.1      (4) the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 
  2.2   18, Township 163 North, Range 44 West; 
  2.3      (5) the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 
  2.4   18, Township 163 North, Range 44 West; 
  2.5      (6) the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section 
  2.6   18, Township 163 North, Range 44 West; 
  2.7      (7) the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section 
  2.8   18, Township 163 North, Range 44 West; 
  2.9      (8) the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section

  2.21     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.22  management interests would best be served if the land were 
  2.23  conveyed to a public entity.
