A bill for an act
relating to data practices; agricultural data;
classifying certain information relating to feedlots
and animal premises as nonpublic data; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 13.643, by adding a
subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 13.643, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

new text begin Feedlot permit data. new text end

new text begin (a) The following data
collected and maintained by the Board of Animal Health related
to registration and identification of premises and animals under
chapter 35, are classified as private or nonpublic:

new text begin (1) the names and addresses of the applicants;
new text end

new text begin (2) the location of the feedlots or premises where animals
are kept; and
new text end

new text begin (3) the identification number of the premises or the animal.

new text begin (b) Nothing in this subdivision prohibits a state agency
from carrying out the statutory duties of the agency.
