  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to crime; victim reparations; allowing a 
  1.3             victim to submit a claim under the revenue recapture 
  1.4             act; providing for consumer credit agency reports of 
  1.5             restitution orders; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, 
  1.6             sections 270A.03, subdivision 2; and 611A.04, by 
  1.7             adding a subdivision. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 270A.03, 
  1.10  subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [CLAIMANT AGENCY.] "Claimant agency" means any 
  1.12  state agency, as defined by section 14.02, subdivision 2, the 
  1.13  regents of the University of Minnesota, any district court of 
  1.14  the state, any county, any statutory or home rule charter city 
  1.15  presenting a claim for a municipal hospital, a hospital 
  1.16  district, any public agency responsible for child support 
  1.17  enforcement, any public agency responsible for the collection of 
  1.18  court-ordered restitution, and any public agency established by 
  1.19  general or special law that is responsible for the 
  1.20  administration of a low-income housing program.  "Claimant 
  1.21  agency" includes a victim of a crime or a juvenile offense 
  1.22  acting on the victim's own behalf to recover restitution, as 
  1.23  defined in subdivision 8. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 611A.04, is 
  1.25  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.26     Subd. 1c.  [REPORT TO CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCY.] The crime 
  2.1   victims reparations board shall notify consumer reporting 
  2.2   agencies, as defined in section 13C.001, subdivision 4, of the 
  2.3   existence of a court order for restitution issued against an 
  2.4   offender, the amount of the order, and the offender's full name, 
  2.5   last known address, and any other identifying information on the 
  2.6   offender possessed by the board.
