A bill for an act
relating to the Minnesota family investment program; appropriating money for
supported work.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $3,500,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2010 and $10,600,000 for fiscal year
2011 from the TANF fund to the commissioner of human services to be allocated to
counties and tribes for supported work for MFIP participants, and is available until
expended. Supported work includes paid transitional work experience and a continuum
of employment assistance, including outreach and recruitment, program orientation and
intake, testing and assessment, job development and marketing, preworksite training,
supported worksite experience, job coaching, and postplacement follow up, in addition to
extensive case management and referral services.
