A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; allowing the use of two lines and two hooks for
angling; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.315.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.315, is amended to read:


97C.315 ANGLING LINES AND HOOKS.

Subdivision 1.

Lines.

An angler may not use more than deleted text begin one line except:deleted text end new text begin two lines.

deleted text begin (1) two lines may be used to take fish through the ice; and

deleted text begin (2) the commissioner may, by rule, authorize the use of two lines in areas designated
by the commissioner in Lake Superior.

Subd. 2.

Hooks.

An angler may not have more than deleted text begin one hookdeleted text end new text begin two hooksnew text end on
a line, except:

(1) three artificial flies may be on a line used to take largemouth bass, smallmouth
bass, trout, crappies, sunfish, and rock bass;

(2) a single artificial bait may contain more than deleted text begin one hookdeleted text end new text begin two hooksnew text end ; and

(3) as otherwise prescribed by the commissioner.
