A bill for an act
relating to energy; prohibiting a local ban on new natural gas hookups in residential
construction; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 326B.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
[326B.441] NATURAL GAS BAN; PROHIBITION.
A political subdivision must not adopt local regulations prohibiting the use of natural
gas as an energy source in a residential unit after July 1, 2021.
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This section is effective the day following final enactment.
