A bill for an act
relating to the State Lottery; prohibiting sale of lottery tickets at fuel pumps;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 349A.13.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 349A.13, is amended to read:


349A.13 RESTRICTIONS.

Nothing in this chapter:

(1) authorizes the director to conduct a lottery game or contest the winner or winners
of which are determined by the result of a sporting event other than a horse race conducted
under chapter 240;

(2) authorizes the director to install or operate a lottery device operated by coin or
currency which when operated determines the winner of a game; and

(3) authorizes the director to sell pull-tabs as defined under section 349.12,
subdivision 32
.; and

(4) authorizes the director to permit the sale of lottery tickets by retailers at a fuel
pump or other petroleum-dispensing equipment, as regulated under section 239.751. A
lottery retailer who operates petroleum-dispensing equipment must sell lottery tickets
inside the store.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
