  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to child nutrition; appropriating money. 
  1.3   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.4      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.5      (a) $1,700,000 is appropriated for each fiscal year of the 
  1.6   biennium ending June 30, 1999, from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of human services and is added to the base 
  1.8   appropriation to maintain the existing level of the WIC food 
  1.9   program for women and children. 
  1.10     (b) $200,000 is appropriated for each year of the biennium 
  1.11  ending June 30, 1999, from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.12  of human services to develop and implement an outreach program 
  1.13  to apprise potential recipients of the WIC food program of the 
  1.14  importance of good nutrition and availability of the program.
