A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for
food and nutrition assistance.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION FOR FOODSHELF PROGRAMS.

new text begin $400,000 is appropriated for the 2006 and 2007 biennium
from the general fund to the commissioner of human services for
foodshelf programs according to Minnesota Statutes, section
119A.44. A portion of this increase must be spent on produce
certified as organically grown in Minnesota. This appropriation
is in addition to the base appropriation for fiscal years 2006
and 2007 and shall become part of the base appropriation for
fiscal years 2008 and 2009.
