  1.5             conditions; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section

  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

 11.52     Sec. 10.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 611A.57, is 
 12.1   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
 12.2      Subd. 3a.  [TIMING OF GRANTS; LIMIT.] The board shall, to 
 12.3   the extent possible, schedule the award of grants so that its 
 12.4   annual appropriation becomes obligated in equal monthly 
 12.5   increments.  The total amount awarded must not exceed the amount 
 12.6   appropriated.
