  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for a grant for 
  1.3             restructuring schools through systemic site decision 
  1.4             making; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; SCHOOL RESTRUCTURING GRANTS.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.] The sums 
  1.8   indicated in this section are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.9   to the department of education for the fiscal years designated.  
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [SCHOOL RESTRUCTURING GRANTS.] For a school 
  1.11  restructuring grant under Minnesota Statutes, section 126.019: 
  1.12       $350,000       .....     1996 
  1.13       $350,000       .....     1997 
  1.14     The appropriations must be used for grants to a nonstate 
  1.15  organization to develop systemic site decision making models and 
  1.16  implement systemic site decision making in school districts. 
  1.17     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.18  available in the second year.
