  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; providing for 
  1.3             allocation of money for general services of a soil and 
  1.4             water conservation district; appropriating money; 
  1.5             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 103C.401, by 
  1.6             adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 103C.401, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 3.  [GENERAL SERVICES ALLOCATION.] Subject to an 
  1.11  appropriation by law for this purpose, the board shall provide 
  1.12  an annual allocation of general services funding for each 
  1.13  organized district in the state.  If county funding for a 
  1.14  district is reduced from the previous fiscal year funding level, 
  1.15  the allocation under this subdivision must be reduced by an 
  1.16  equal amount. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.18     $227,500 in fiscal year 2000 and $227,500 in fiscal year 
  1.19  2001 is appropriated from the general fund to the board of water 
  1.20  and soil resources for distribution to the soil and water 
  1.21  conservation districts.  The appropriation is in addition to any 
  1.22  money distributed under Minnesota Statutes, section 103C.401, 
  1.23  subdivision 3.
