  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the conveyance of 
  1.3             state land in Rice county. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [SALE OF STATE LAND; FARIBAULT.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [PERMITTED.] (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota 
  1.7   Statutes, chapters 94 and 103F, or any other law to the 
  1.8   contrary, the commissioner of administration may convey the 
  1.9   state land described in paragraph (b) to independent school 
  1.10  district No. 656, Faribault, for no consideration. 
  1.11     (b) The land which may be conveyed under paragraph (a) is 
  1.12  legally described in general as follows: 
  1.13     All that part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest 
  1.14     Quarter (SE 1/4 of SW 1/4) and all that part of the 
  1.15     Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (SW 1/4 of SE 
  1.16     1/4), all in Section 29, Township 110 North, Range 20 West, 
  1.17     in the City of Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota, owned by 
  1.18     the state of Minnesota or any department or division 
  1.19     thereof. 
  1.20     (c) The state may convey the property subject to this 
  1.21  section one or more times if necessary to accomplish a 
  1.22  consolidation of parcels.  
  1.23     (d) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.24  attorney general. 
  2.1      Subd. 2.  [PURPOSE.] The land authorized for conveyance 
  2.2   under subdivision 1 must be used as part of a site for an 
  2.3   elementary school. 
  2.4      Subd. 3.  [TITLE REVERTS TO STATE.] If the lands described 
  2.5   in subdivision 1 are not used for a public purpose, or upon 
  2.6   discontinuance of such use, the title for the property shall 
  2.7   revert to the state.  
  2.8      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.9      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
