  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; authorizing temporary 
  1.3             relocation of certain McLeod county offices to places 
  1.4             outside of the county seat. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [MCLEOD COUNTY; COUNTY OFFICES OUTSIDE COUNTY 
  1.7   SEAT.] 
  1.8      Due to adverse environmental conditions that are present in 
  1.9   their office space at the county seat, and notwithstanding 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, section 382.04 to the contrary, the McLeod 
  1.11  county auditor, treasurer, and recorder may temporarily office 
  1.12  at a location outside the county seat.  The authority provided 
  1.13  in this section expires eight years after final enactment. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Under Minnesota Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1, 
  1.16  clause (a), section 1 takes effect, without local approval, the 
  1.17  day following final enactment.
