  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; specifying pension coverage 
  1.3             for certain former Anoka County employees; proposing 
  1.4             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 353. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [353.0165] [RETENTION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEE 
  1.7   STATUS.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [APPLICATION.] This section applies to a 
  1.9   person who: 
  1.10     (1) was employed by Anoka County in connection with the 
  1.11  Achieve program for adults with developmental disabilities on 
  1.12  the day before operation of the program was transferred to a 
  1.13  private nonprofit organization; and 
  1.14     (2) was a member of the association on the day before 
  1.15  operation of the Achieve program was transferred to the private 
  1.16  nonprofit organization. 
  1.17     Subd. 2.  [CONTINUATION OF COVERAGE.] A person to whom this 
  1.18  section applies remains a "public employee" under this chapter 
  1.19  while employed by the private nonprofit corporation that 
  1.20  operates the Achieve program for adults in Anoka County with 
  1.21  developmental disabilities. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
