  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans affairs; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the proposed World War II veterans memorial. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of administration for the construction of a World 
  1.8   War II veterans memorial on the State Capitol mall.  The design 
  1.9   is subject to approval by the Capitol Area Architectural and 
  1.10  Planning Board.  This appropriation is available until expended. 
  1.11     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective July 1, 2004.
