A bill for an act
relating to labor; providing a salary increase for employees and supervisors in law
enforcement and making a technical change; appropriating money; amending Laws
2020, Fifth Special Session chapter 3, article 9, section 6.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Laws 2020, Fifth Special Session chapter 3, article 9, section 6, is amended to
read:

employees whose exclusive representative is the Minnesota Law Enforcement Association:

Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents, and special agents in the gambling enforcement
division

officers by 8.4 percent;

fraud specialists by 8.4 percent.

new text begin (b) In addition to the Minnesota Law Enforcement Association represented employees
listed in paragraph (a), and notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the commissioners of
the agencies listed in paragraph (a), clauses (1) to (4), must increase the salary paid to all
supervisory and managerial licensed peace officer positions represented by the Middle
Management Association, commissioner's plan, and managerial plan and employed by their
agencies by 8.4 percent.

appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for enforcement
division salary increases. In each of fiscal years 2022 and 2023, $258,000 is appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for this purpose. This amount
is in addition to the base appropriation for this purpose.

commissioner of natural resources for enforcement division salary increases. In each of
fiscal years 2022 and 2023, $303,000 is appropriated from the natural resources fund to the
commissioner of natural resources for this purpose. This amount is in addition to the base
appropriation for this purpose.

This amount is in addition to the base appropriation for this purpose.

to the commissioner of public safety for Bureau of Criminal Apprehension special agent
salary increases. In each of fiscal years 2022 and 2023, $19,000 is appropriated from the
opiate epidemic response fund to the commissioner of public safety for this purpose. This
amount is in addition to the base appropriation for this purpose.

of public safety for Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division special agent salary
increases. In each of fiscal years 2022 and 2023, $44,000 is appropriated from the general

the base appropriation for this purpose.

This amount is in addition to the base appropriation for this purpose.
