  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to employment; prohibiting certain mandatory 
  1.3             overtime; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes, chapter 177. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [177.252] [MANDATORY OVERTIME PROHIBITED.] 
  1.7      No employee may be compelled to work more than 40 hours in 
  1.8   a work week for more than three consecutive weeks, except in the 
  1.9   case of an emergency.  Nothing in this section prevents an 
  1.10  employee from working more hours than those specified in this 
  1.11  section if the employee has consented to those hours.
