relating to early childhood education; allocating a portion of scholarship funds;
appropriating money; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 124D.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin For purposes of this section, "early childhood scholarship
funds" means appropriations to the commissioner for the scholarship program first
established under Laws 2011, First Special Session chapter 11, article 7, section 2,
subdivision 8.

new text begin Allocation of funds; diverse cultural programming. new text end

new text begin The commissioner
shall annually allocate a portion of early childhood scholarship funds solely for use in
early childhood education programs that:

new text begin (1) provide early learning experiences in a bicultural, bilingual, or other culturally
diverse programming environment; and
new text end

new text begin (2) are participating in the quality rating and improvement system under section
124D.142.
