  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 13.43, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2b.  [STUDENT EVALUATION OF INSTRUCTORS; DATA 
  1.10  DISCLOSURE.] Notwithstanding subdivision 4, summaries of student 
  1.11  evaluations of faculty members excluding teaching assistants 
  1.12  collected and maintained by the University of Minnesota are 
  1.13  public data subject to disclosure under this chapter. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective February 1, 1998, and applies to 
  1.16  data collected on or after that date.
