  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; staging the 
  1.3             availability of an appropriation in proportion to the 
  1.4             matching money received; amending Laws 1994, chapter 
  1.5             643, section 19, subdivision 9. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1994, chapter 643, section 19, subdivision 
  1.8   9, is amended to read: 
  1.9   Subd. 9.  Museum and Center for 
  1.10  American Indian History                               1,100,000
  1.11  This appropriation is for the Minnesota 
  1.12  historical society to plan, design, and 
  1.13  construct a museum and center for 
  1.14  American Indian history and policy.  
  1.15  The facility shall be located at an 
  1.16  institution of higher education, 
  1.17  selected by the state university board, 
  1.18  which serves a region including the 
  1.19  three most populous Indian 
  1.20  reservations.  This appropriation 
  1.21  is not available unless matched by 
  1.22  $1,000,000 from nonpublic sources as 
  1.23  follows:  Up to $550,000 is available 
  1.24  when $500,000 is raised from nonpublic 
  1.25  sources, up to a total of $825,000 is 
  1.26  available when a total of $750,000 is 
  1.27  raised from nonpublic sources, and the 
  1.28  entire appropriation of $1,100,000 is 
  1.29  available when a total of $1,000,000 is 
  1.30  raised from nonpublic sources.
