  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; appropriating money to 
  1.3             the higher education services office to match grants 
  1.4             made under the National Service Scholars program. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $290,500 is appropriated to the higher education services 
  1.8   office for fiscal year 1998, to match scholarship grants made 
  1.9   under the National Service Scholars program of the Corporation 
  1.10  for National Service to students attending Minnesota high 
  1.11  schools.  Not more than one matching grant of $500 may be made 
  1.12  for each high school.
