A bill for an act
relating to transportation; designating a segment of signed Trunk Highway 149
in Mendota Heights as Officer Scott Patrick Memorial Highway; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 161.14, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 161.14, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin (a) That segment of signed
Trunk Highway 149, known as Dodd Road, from the interchange with signed Interstate
Highway 494 to the intersection with Smith Avenue in West St. Paul is designated as
"Officer Scott Patrick Memorial Highway."

new text begin (b) The commissioner shall, in consultation with interested groups, adopt a suitable
design to mark this highway that conforms to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices adopted by the commissioner under section 169.06, except that the design must:

new text begin (1) have a background color of blue with white lettering; and
new text end

new text begin (2) include a graphic as determined in consultation with interested groups.

new text begin (c) Subject to section 161.139, the commissioner shall erect appropriate signs.
