  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; requiring disclosures by 
  1.3             certain persons conducting polls; proposing coding for 
  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 211B. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [211B.206] [POLLING; REQUIRED DISCLOSURES.] 
  1.7      A person who conducts a survey by telephone that relates to 
  1.8   a candidate for elective office of the state, or any of its 
  1.9   political subdivisions, must, at the request of the survey 
  1.10  respondent, provide the following information at the termination 
  1.11  of the survey: 
  1.12     (1) the name, address, and telephone number of the person 
  1.13  who retained the pollster; and 
  1.14     (2) whether the survey is being conducted with the consent 
  1.15  or cooperation of any candidate mentioned in the survey.
